Today marks the official release date for Illinois’ new digital album, ‘Lemonade Stand’. It’s a diversely styled eleven track album that will surely pique any music lovers’ interest. This album will appeal to new listeners as well as the diehard Illinois fans (those familiar with Illinois’ previous releases ‘The Revenge Of Some Kid’, ‘What The Hell Do I Know?’, and ‘The Adventures Of Kid Catastrophe) . All in all, ‘Lemonade Stand’ is a great listening experience.
“Tractor Show” is graced with that beautiful banjo sound. “Mountains” and “Artillery” have killer digital melodies. “Metropolis” has catchy music, an angelic chorus of “ah’s” and is a fun tune. “Two Track Love Song” is more serious and just as charming. Also, the drumming on these songs is very noticeable and tight – perfect! As for the lyrics, you’ll be singing along in no time. Well, I never like to go into detail about every song but know that you owe it to yourself to give ‘Lemonade Stand’ a listen.
What I love about ‘Lemonade Stand’ and Illinois’ music in general is that even though Illinois tends to stay in the rock/indie/alternative genres you could picture them easily mastering any genre they please with confidence. It’s that ability that makes Illinois’ music so fresh and dynamic but always keeping an element that is so uniquely Illinois.
