The Philly Folk Parade presents: A Winter Solstice Benefit Show at World Cafe Live (Philadelphia, PA) December 21, 2011. Featuring: Joshua Park, Brad Hinton, Ron Gallo, Allison Polans, and Joe D’Amico, Philip D’Agostino, Kevin Killen and Bethany Brooks. It was a beautiful night of music by some of my favorite Philly area artists.

Amos Lee - Nov 5, 2011

Sorry, I only have a few pictures because I was too busy enjoying the show.  The Academy of Music is by far the nicest venue I’ve ever been in — it is amazing.  To see Amos Lee perform in this amazing venue was incredible.  The last time I saw Amos Lee in concert was almost a year ago to the date in Delaware at the Grand Opera House (Nov. 6, 2010) and I thought that show was wonderful – last night’s show was a million times better.  It was so nice to hear a small horn section and string quartet added into the arrangement of some of the songs.  Amos Lee’s set began with “El Camino”, had a bunch of other songs and stories before ending with an encore of “Arms Of A Woman” and an awesome cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain”.  If you were not at this show last night you really missed something magical.

Also on the bill were Brett Dennen and Mutlu.

I’m a music enthusiast – and proud of it.

It was a great night of new music previews at the Tin Angel last night with Adrien Reju and Suzie Brown sharing a bill.  Everyone in attendance was treated to hearing Brown’s new, unrecorded album live .  Adrien Reju closed the show with a set of new material as well as some songs from “A Million Hearts” – that is a great album and from what I heard last night Reju’s next album is sounding great too.  Hanging out at the Tin Angel and hearing such beautiful live music was the perfect way to spend a Saturday night.
